Principal's Message
Welcome from Laura Perales, Your Grateful OLPHA Principal
Dear OLPH Academy Families,
It is with a heart full of gratitude and excitement that I introduce myself as your incoming principal. I am Mrs. Laura Perales, and I feel truly blessed to be called to serve this faith-filled community.
My journey has been one of faith and dedication to children first. I am a cradle Catholic, born in Hialeah, Florida, and brought to Corpus Christi at the age of four, where my family found our spiritual home at Most Precious Blood Church. It was there that I received most of my sacraments and first learned what it means to be part of a community rooted in Christ. Today, my family and I are parishioners at St. Philip Catholic Church, though you'll often find us worshiping alongside our big family at parishes throughout our diocese. Wherever we go, our faith goes with us — and that same faith is what draws me to OLPH Academy.
For over 30 years, I have had the privilege of serving children in public education, including the last nine years in school administration. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, both from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi. But more than degrees and titles, what has shaped me most is three decades spent believing in the potential of every child who walks through a school's doors.
Now, I am ready to bring that same belief — paired with a Christ-centered heart — to OLPH Academy. I am inspired daily by our mission to nurture young hearts and minds, and I look forward to partnering with our teachers, staff, and families to help every child grow in their relationship with Christ, build a love of learning, and develop the confidence and character they need to thrive, both now and in the years ahead.
Outside of school and church life, my greatest joy is my family. I have been married to my husband for 29 years, and together we are blessed with four amazing children and five grandchildren who keep our hearts and our home full. In my quieter moments, I love getting lost in a good book or out on the pickleball court!
I am humbled and honored to walk alongside you on this journey of faith and learning. Please know that my door — and my heart — are always open.
In Christ,
Mrs. Laura Perales Incoming Principal, OLPH Academy
May our Lord and Savior bless you and your family abundantly!
